I am a big, big fan of the writer Tom Drury. I loved his novels The End of Vandalism and The Driftless Area. He’s an original. He doesn’t write like anybody else. Which is why I can’t wait to start reading his new novel Pacific. I’ve heard Tom read several sections of the book, which are fantastic, but don’t take if from me, here’s what the New York Times said.
My “To Be Read” pile is growing. Besides Pacific, I’m looking forward to Matthew Specktor’s American Dream Machine and Mary Roach’s exploration of the alimentary canal Gulp.
